Siu
Nim Tao is the first Wing Chun form that is learnt. The name translates
as “little idea form”. The form relatively simple, consisting
of 108 movements, but with no footwork. The main emphasis of Siu
Nim Tao is to strive for perfect positioning of the arms in relation
to the body to aid the execution of strong, precise techniques.
The form also develops good posture, strong legs (needed for balance
and kicking), and importantly Gung Lik (elbow energy) and Fa Ging
(explosive, focused energy). |
