The
third Wing Chum form is Biu Tze, meaning “Thrusting Fingers”.
Biu Tze is the most advanced empty hand boxing form, which is only
practised by committed students.
Biu
Tze requires a high level of understanding of Siu Nim Tao and Chum
Kiu in order to appreciate and understand the energies and techniques
that is teaches. The form contains finger, palm and elbow techniques
that can cause an immense amount of damage and are potentially lethal.
For this reason Biu Tze is only taught to advanced students that
have the correct mentality and overall approach to Wing Chun practice.
One
of the key elements of the form is to recover from a mistake that
might be made by a Wing Chun Practitioner. For this reason the form
is often referred to as “medicine hand”, as it aids
recovery when most needed.
